Position Description 

Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition (C5) is a U.S. Department of Energy designated coalition in the Clean Cities and Communities partnership with the mission of cultivating partnerships with diverse stakeholders to support transportation decarbonization across California’s Central Coast. C5 is administered by the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (SBCAPCD) and works locally to expand the use of alternative fuel vehicles and fueling infrastructure across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

With support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program
(CCUWDP), C5 is recruiting an undergraduate/graduate student to serve as an intern for the summer 2024 term, with opportunities to continue through the 2024-2025 school year.

Details:
-30 or 40 hours per week for 10 weeks: June 3, 2024 – August 16, 2024
-Potential to continue as an intern in Fall 2024, working 15 or 20 hours per week
-Rate: $17/hour
-Hybrid schedule
-Monday, Thursday, and Friday working remotely
-Tuesday and Wednesday working at the SBCAPCD Santa Barbara Office: 260 N. San Antonio Rd. Suite A, Santa
Barbara, CA 93110

Job Duties:
-Design social media graphics, outreach materials, and email blasts
-Website editing and social media account management
-Support planning and staffing for local outreach events (ex: Earth Day, National Drive Electric Week, training/demo
events, etc.)
-Track relevant grants and incentives, new alternative fueling stations, alternative fuel prices, local success stories, etc. Support stakeholder engagement and outreach efforts
-Engage in professional development opportunities, including webinars, conferences, informational interviews,
listening sessions, etc.

Qualifications:
-Current undergraduate or graduate student
-Interest in alternative fuel vehicles/fueling infrastructure and emerging transportation technologies
-Comfortably working collaboratively and independently
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Ability to travel to the SBCAPCD’s Santa Barbara office 1-2x per week
