Position Description 

The UCSB Sustainability Program is seeking a student intern to assist with several projects related to climate resilience. The UC system embarked on a campus and community feedback process using a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Centered Climate Resilience Planning Strategy last year, which you can read more about here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14mxoRSax_pctu1j-n0ImSxVq_Pbd8d5s/view.

The role of the Carbon Action Initiative project based fellow is to assist with several projects related to climate resilience. This may include collecting additional feedback on resilience planning documents, collecting and analyzing data, and identifying potential climate adaptation response strategies. 

This intern will also be a part of the 2024–2025 UC Climate Action Initiative Student Fellowship Program and will receive training from UCOP and external experts. They will also have an opportunity to network with peer fellows during exciting and related work from across the UC system. This fellow will also work closely with our Campus Emergency Manager on climate hazardous assessment and planning.
