Position Description 

As the Data Management Intern, you will report to a Business Development Advisor within ENGIE’s Business Development Team to assist with the management of data related to utility-scale renewable energy projects.

 

As the Data Management Intern you will maintain key databases, conduct research, and create new data layers to facilitate project development. In this role you will assist with the management of data related to utility-scale renewable energy projects in GIS Systems with a focus on ESRI products and Excel and gain exposure to the renewable development process and will hone mapping and data management skills.  

 

  • Research competitor projects and input this data into our spatial platform
  • Review potential locations for grid-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects
  • Present opportunities to the greenfield development team
  • Add and update spatial data layers to improve site identification and evaluation
  • Manipulate parcel data and map structures based on aerial imagery  
  • Attend meetings, collaborate, and coordinate with cross functional teams and stakeholders
     

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be at least a junior or senior working toward a graduate or undergraduate degree in environmental science, computer science, or data science, or in a closely related field in which you have college level course experience of ArcGIS Pro, ESRI products, and proficiency with EXCEL
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
     

Additional Details

The internship work term will be from August 2024 to December 2024
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy in the Santa Barbara, CA office with a minimum of 20 hours per week
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
