Lead Bee Campus Coordinator
Position Description
- Coordinate Bee Campus conservation and outreach activities, such as tabling, planting
habitat, and posting bee information on social media, by working together with the
committee and other student interns.
- Schedule and facilitate regular committee meetings. Meetings include a core team of
student interns and our mentor, Katja Seltmann (Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and
Ecological Restoration). Other committee members and any interested students are
welcome to join.
- Stay up to date with Bee Campus certification status by applying for renewal each year
and keeping track of pollinator activities throughout the year.
- Apply for funding at least once per year. The existing Coastal Fund application can be
reused with minor edits, so the team lead would be responsible for coordinating progress
on these edits, getting feedback and approval from mentors, submitting the application
within the deadline, and communicating with the Coastal Fund.
- Distribute tasks among interns and hire student interns to lead garden and outreach
work each year.
- Mentor team of interns by helping them create a work plan based on their interests,
providing guidance and support, and checking on progress.
- Participate in outreach events and garden work as needed to support interns and team
- Update and maintain the website as needed
