Inspired by the breathtaking landscape and diverse marine life that surrounds our campus, Sea Change aims to bridge the gap between marine awareness and conservation engagement among the UCSB community. From the rocky reefs of the Santa Barbara coastline to the tranquil kelp forests of Santa Cruz Island, this exhibition will offer a glimpse into the vibrant biodiversity and the fragile balance of our underwater backyard.

This exhibition was curated by Erick Morales Oyola, an undergraduate student at UC Santa Barbara studying Aquatic Biology and Environmental Studies. This exhibition is funded in part by the UCSB Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities and co-sponsored by the Environmental Leadership Incubator of the UCSB Environmental Studies Program. All underwater images were created by Oyola between 2023 and 2024.
